BOCKFEST 2015

Sales have begun as of December 1st and some have already sent their reservation money in. Just so you are aware, seats are $35 from today until the 31st of DecemberOn January 1st, prices go to $40 a seat until all 200 seats are gone. I generally run out of space about two weeks before Bockfest. The only way to save a spot is to get your money in first.

check or money orders only for now, email me at bockfestbusguy@aol.com or instant message on facebook site.

As always, your reservation gets you a safe and fun round trip ride to and from Bockfest and a very tasty breakfast buffet at the Pub 500 in Mankato (departure and return spot). I may have access to entry tickets, but cannot promise anything until I have them in my hands. If interested in the entry tickets, just let me know and I will make an effort to get them for all who want them ($15 a ticket). Not sure yet but you may be able to purchase them online again this year but they have not said yet.

Do not procrastinate, tickets do go fast once they start rolling in.

Well, the 2013 Bockfest has came to an end. Once again the Bock Gods protected us and delayed the snow storm for one day so we could celebrate. Oddly, the entry lines were very short this year but the attendance was normal. Thanks to all who came, mark it on your calendar, I believe it will be March 1st next year.

Important Information

Important things to keep in mind:
9-Spot the Beer Fairy, get a picture with him. It is good luck!
8- Dress up, have fun. No one will ever make fun of you. Plus it is easier to track down your drunk friend when you say " Have you seen a guy in a Bockman costume?"
7- Beers in the past have cost 3 tickets. It takes about 2 1/2  beers to fill a Bubba Keg.
6- Don't stop at the first Ticket Booth, there is another one farther up with no one there.
5- Must be 21 to enter.
4- Make sure you bring your ID
3- Buy a big mug, like the Bubba Keg
2- Cash, have it before we leave. Unless something changes, there is no atm at Bockfest.

1- RULE NUMBER ONE- DO NOT BE LATE!. The bus WILL pull out at 9am on the button and return at 5pm. We will not wait for anyone for any reason. The lines will be long enough as it is.

Plan your trip time well. It takes a little over 1 1/2 hours from the cities on a good day.

I plan on being responsible and semi-sober for the takeoff, but cannot guarantee that on the return.

Helpful hints-
1- Watch the weather, and dress appropriately for it
2- You may want to pace yourself. It is a marathon, not a sprint.
3- If you have never done it, you have to do a Deer or Bear Bong. You will know it when you see it.
4- Cameras can be good, cameras can be bad.
5- While "what happens at Bockfest, stays at Bockfest" is a fine saying, it rarely comes true.
6- Guys, the best bathrooms are the big trough urinal ones. Much faster.
7- Gals, sorry, just pretend you are camping in the woods.
8- You have to have a bratwurst. Top notch.
9- Drinking in line: You need to be cautious as they were making people pour out. A small flask or something ingenius like drunken gummi bears are in order.

BOCK BEER!!

Each year the promise of spring was confirmed as the first keg of Schell's Bock rolled onto waiting delivery wagons. And since 1860, Schell's Bock has continued in the true German tradition. Completely reformulated for 2009, Schell's Bock has replaced Caramel Bock as our late winter seasonal. Brewed with a harmonious blend of 10 different types of malt and noble hops, Schell's Bock is fermented slowly, and then lagered for an extended period of time to ensure a smooth finish. Perfect for passing even the coldest winter day.

This dark amber colored beer sports a robust malt character.

Beer Style: Bock

Alcohol by Volume: 6.1%

Characteristics: Dark amber color, robust malt character.

Available: January-February

Watch for the Beer Fairy!!!!

Legend has it that if you hug him tightly while sipping a Caramel Bock, that your wish will come true. At least, thats what he told Yohnk here. But, even the next morning when they finally stopped hugging, the wish hadn't happened yet.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

1- ID, GOTTA HAVE IT OR ITS 1919 ROOT BEER ALL DAY, NO EXCEPTIONS.
2- WARM CLOTHES. HOPEFULLY IT STAYS IN THE 20S/30S, BUT REMEMBER IT IS OUTSIDE FUN.
3- A MUG. THE BUBBA KEG FROM TARGET WORKS GREAT AND WILL NOT BREAK ON YOU.
4- GOOD BOOTS. KEEP THE TOOTSIES WARM!
5- CAMERAS ARE GOOD TO HAVE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MIGHT SEE THE BEER FAIRY.
6- CASH!!!!! THERE IS NO ATM AT THE BREWERY (AT LEAST NOT IN THE PAST)
7- GOOD ATTITUDE. IN MY 15 OR SO BOCKFESTS, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A FIGHT.
8- IF YOU MEET A GUY NAMED DAN HEYER, ASK TO HEAR HIS HORSE JOKE.
